PDA Talk
What makes you an ND Affirming Service Provider
Hi, my name is Sally (she/her). I am a late diagnosed autistic mother to three neurodivergent teens/adults. I celebrate difference and aspire to create a welcoming and safe space for all.
PDA talk is a neurodiversity affirming practice. I acknowledge that each child has unique characteristics and strengths. My service caters to this, as opposed to offering a ‘one size fits all’ approach in the format of a course or workshop. In my work, I gently support adults to adjust the environment to match the child. This contrasts with a therapeutic approach that attempts to ‘change’ the child to match the environment. I listen to neurodivergent voices, continuously reflect on my practice and remain open to suggestion as to how I can better meet the needs of the ND community.
